How can I call using a ComfyTel Access Number?
ComfyTel access numbers allow you to use ComfyTel service from your registered phones,
as well as from just any phone. Dial an Access Number local to your city or country
(see the list of the ComfyTel Access Numbers), have the ComfyTel system answer you,
and dial your destination number anywhere in the world. Note, if you are calling
from an unregistered phone you'll need to identify yourself by entering your PIN
code that was allocated to you when your account was created.
What number should I dial?
The destination numbers should be dialed in the international format (called E.164
number) starting with the country code, without the leading + and without the international
dialing prefixes (00, 011, etc.)
What if ComfyTel does not have an Access Number in my city?
In this case you can use either Callback feature or login into your ComfyTel account
and use WebPhone to launch a call. For using the Callback, your phone has to be
registered in your account and set as PIN-free. Note that calls to the Callback
number +1(647)477-4162 are free of charge because they are not actually answered
by the ComfyTel system. Within a few seconds after receiving such call, the system
will call you back and ask you to dial your actual destination number.
How can I call using my Computer?
Using the ComfyTel WebPhone interface is an easy and convenient way of launching
and controlling your calls. You need to log in your ComfyTel account from any computer,
select the FlashPhone or HTMLPhone, assign one of your registered phones as the
phone to call from ("my phone"), enter the destination number in the "Destination"
window and click "Dial". Or, instead of entering the destination number, you can
click on the respective phone icon in your Contacts or Call History. You can also

What is the best way to call from a mobile phone?
When calling from a mobile, you could save not only on the long distance (same as
with the landline ComfyTel calling), but on the airtime charges, as well. Depending
on the mobile plan you have and your mobile usage patterns, there are several basic
strategies for the mobile calling with ComfyTel. For people with the unlimited incoming
calls option, using the Callback service can completely eliminate need for outbound
minutes. For people with unlimited calling to/from some specific ("favourite") numbers,
calling with ComfyTel could eliminate paying for any minutes, as all inbound and
outbound calls will be with the ComfyTel server numbers defined as the "favourites".
How can I call from Skype?
You can make your Skype client one of the phones in your ComfyTel account. Just
configure your Skype ID at MyAccount --> Skype, IMs, Twitter tab. Next time you
make a call using the FlashPhone GUI you can choose your Skype ID from the My Phone
drop-down menu, same way as any other registered phone. Along with using your Skype
as a phone, you can use Skype messaging for initiating calls with ComfyTel and controlling
your ComfyTel account settings.
How can I initiate call from IM programs: MSN, Yahoo, Gtalk or Skype?
You can initiate calls and manage your account settings by sending instant messages
to ComfyTel. You should register your user name at MyAccount --> Skype, IMs, Twitter
tab for every messenger you are going to use. Then add ComfyTel to your messenger
Contacts and send it a message with a destination number to call. The phone that
is currently set as your "My Phone" will ring and upon your answering the call will
go to the destination. You can change your My Phone by sending a message P number
to ComfyTel, where number is one of your registered phones. ComfyTel user name is:
comfytel for Skype and Yahoo, dial@comfytel.com for MSN and comfytel@gmail.com for
GTalk
How can I initiate call using SMS?
With ComfyTel you can call any destination in the world using short messaging service
(SMS). Simply text us the number you want to call and you will be connected with
your party in seconds. Please note: the mobile phone number you will be sending
the text message commands from, must be registered in “Registered phones”
section of your ComfyTel account with a “PIN-free” setting enabled.
How can I initiate call using Twitter?
You can initiate calls by sending a direct message to ComfyTel. You should register
your Twitter account at MyAccount --> Skype, IMs, Twitter tab. Upon registration
Comfytel will follow you and will allow you sending direct messages to ComfyTel
Twitter account: tw2dl. Send a direct message to tw2dl with a destination number
to call (d tw2dl
). The phone currently set as your My Phone will ring and upon your answering the
call will go to the destination. You can change your My Phone by sending a message
P number to tw2dl, where number is one of your registered phones.
You can call people on Skype from ComfyTel, they don't need to have the SkypeIn
account for this. Just enter their Skype ID prefixed with 99910 into your FlashPhone
destination number and call. You can also dial their Skype ID (with the same 99910
prefix) from the WingBee application on your smart phone. Moreover, if you put your
buddies' Skype IDs into your ComfyTel Contacts and assign them with the speed dial
codes, you'll be able to call them from a regular phone as well - using regular
ComfyTel dialing with Access or Callback Numbers.
How many phones can I register?
There is no limit to the number of phones you can register with ComfyTel. The registration
itself is simple and quick, so you can add more phones to your account any time.

How do I dial "PIN-free"?
To dial PIN-free using ComfyTel Access Numbers the phone you are dialing from has
to be set as a PIN-free in your MyAccount --> Registered Phones tab.
What is difference between personal and shared phone?
A phone set up as "personal" in MyAccount --> Registered Phones tab can be used
to invoke all ComfyTel calling features. For example, your can dial a PickUp code
from a personal phone to pull an existing call to it, or you can invoke Call Recording
when you are on a personal phone. Usually, but not necessarily, your cell phone
is your personal phone. A "shared" phone, on the other hand, can be used to originate
and terminate ComfyTel calls, will the favourable ComfyTel rates and including PIN-free
calling, but cannot invoke ComfyTel call features.
Why do I need to verify my phone?
You need to verify your phones to be able to use them for calling with ComfyTel.
The phone verification is required as a security measure to make sure the phone
belongs or is accessible to the account owner. Both the personal and the shared
phones have to be verified.
Why may I need to control caller ID?
There may be many reasons you want to present a specific caller ID on your outgoing
calls, or make the calls unanimous. For example, you want people to always call
you on your personal Reach Number to have ComfyTel features enabled on these calls.
For this, you would like your calls be always presented as coming from your Reach
Number and not the actual phone you are using at the moment.
What are my CallerID options and how do I set them up?
You can control your caller ID setting at your My Account tab The options include
setting your caller ID as any of your Reach Numbers, any of your registered phone
numbers, or as unanimous.
Will my CallerID setting apply to all calls placed on my account?
CallerID setting will be only apply to calls placed from your personal devices as
well as to calls placed using Flash, HTML or
AirPhone
.
How much it cost to create and use SIP accounts?
Creating and maintaining SIP accounts is free.
How do I create a SIP account?
Just go to the My Account --> SIP Accounts tab and follow the instructions there.
What parameters should I use to configure SIP phone?
Usually all you need is to set up you SIP account ID and password as it appears
in your ComfyTel SIP account, and set the SIP registrar and the outbound SIP proxy
pointing to sip.comfytel.com
Why may I need more then one SIP account?
Having several SIP accounts is like having several phone lines in your house or
office. You can have more than one conversation going on in parallel. You may also
have several Reach Numbers for different family members mapped onto different SIP
accounts, so the family members will have individual phones under your single ComfyTel
account.
Can I use SIP on my mobile device?
Yes. You can install a SIP client of your choice on your mobile (if it's not provided
by the phone vendor), configure it for your ComfyTel SIP account and use it for
calls over WiFi network. Our WingBee application also support SIP for limited set
of platforms (Android, Windows Mobile) and support for other platforms (IPhone)
is coming soon.
Can I control CallerID when calling from a SIP Phone?
SIP Phone is treated like any other registered phone in your account, including
the CallerID control. Please note that as for any other phone, SIP Phone should
be set as personal to have callerID settings applied to calls placed directly from
the SIP Phone
What mobile phones do you support?
We support practically all modern smartphones and provide unique seamless solution
for the following platforms: Windows Mobile-based phones, Blackberry devices, Symbian-based
devices, Android-based devices, Apple iPhone. Our client technology does not change
your user experience - we are integrated underneath your phone operation system.
An installation and configuration of these applications take only few minutes. Even
if you have pre 3G legacy phone that has only SMS capability, you can use it for
calling with ComfyTel.

What transport does WingBee use and how can I configure it?
Our flexible call invocation uses variety of transport mechanisms for call control
information: SMS, Data connectivity through GPRS/3G, WiFi or WiMax, 2-stage dialing
through dedicated access numbers. This flexibility is one of the major benefits
of our innovative technology. It allows us to support practically all models of
mobile phones. After installation of WingBee application on your phone you can select
preferable transport through the configuration applet.
In general, WingBee controls regular circuit-switched cellular calls, we don’t
need to rely on VoIP for mobile phones. Nevertheless, we support VoIP calls over
WiFi and 3G for Android and Windows Mobile. VoIP support for iPhone is coming soon.
What is the Internal number?
ComfyTel's global network has its own dialing plan and all ComfyTel subscribers
are automatically assigned with a number within this dialing plan upon opening an
account. This number is called Internal Number. Other people, both ComfyTel subscribers
and non-subscribers, can use your Internal Number to reach you after they have accessed
the ComfyTel network. To access the ComfyTel network the caller have to either use
the WebPhone on the ComfyTel Web portal (subscribers only), or a SIP phone (subscribers
only), or get connected to ComfyTel using an Access Number (both subscribers and
non-subscribers).
What is the Reach Number?
Reach Number is the number people can dial to get to you from the public telephone
network. Reach Number is associated with your ComfyTel account, not with a particular
phone. Which phone or phones will ring when your Reach Number is dialed is up to
you - you set it up in your My Account tab.
How can I get calls from other people that are not ComfyTel customers if I don't
have personal Reach Number?
People who are not ComfyTel customers will need to know 2 things to be able to call
you. First, it's a ComfyTel Access Number for their calling area. Second, it's your
Internal number they need to dial after getting connected to ComfyTel. You can make
life easier for them setting them free of the need to learn your Internal number:
ComfyTel offers you an option to enable your registered phone numbers to serve as
the Internal numbers, so people who already know and use, say, your home number
will just need to learn the Access Number. Enabling your registered phone numbers
as the Reach numbers is done at My Account --> Registered Phones tab.
How people that don't have SkypeOut can call me?
Skype users (don't have to be ComfyTel subscribers) can call you without using the
SkypeOut credits. All they need to do is to send a Skype message to the ComfyTel
Skype ID (comfytel) with any of your Reach Numbers, including the Internal number.
ComfyTel will establish a Skype call to your caller and connect the second leg of
the call to you.
Which of my phones will ring?
Use the Incoming Call Treatment settings at My Account page to define which phone
or a group of phones will ring when a call to your Internal Number comes in. Use
the Reach Numbers tab to set up calls to each of your Reach Numbers be treated either
the same as the calls for Internal number (called the Regular treatment), or be
forwarded to another phone or Voice Mail. You can also create your day-of-week/time-of-day
availability schedule at the My Account --> Availability tab for directing incoming
calls straight to the Voice Mail when you don't want to be disturbed. Note, that
the availability schedule can be applied selectively, based on the Reach Number
dialed.
Can I answer call on phone that is not ringing?
Yes. Your Personal PIN-less phones (see the Registered Phones tab) that are not
part of the ringing group could be used to answer the call - you just need to dial
a Pickup number for this phone. The list of the Pickup numbers is at the Service
Numbers --> Pickup Numbers tab.
Why may I want to set my phone as Reach number?
You may enable using any of your registered phone numbers as your Reach Numbers
within the ComfyTel network. This can be helpful for your callers who already knew
your phone number before you started using ComfyTel - they don't need to update
their contact lists or memorize a new number (ex., your Internal number). They have
to know, however, a ComfyTel Access Number to access the ComfyTel network, unless
they are calling you from Skype or using a CallMe link.
How can I make impression that I have not moved?
You don't need to change your Reach Numbers when you travel internationally and
want to use a local phone in a country overseas. All you need is to register this
local phone number in your ComfyTel account and ComfyTel will take care of the call
routing for you.
How can I register new SIM card?
When you use a local mobile phone or a local SIM card overseas, the registration
with ComfyTel can be done either via the ComfyTel Internet customer portal, or by
sending an SMS with the registration request to ComfyTel.
Using the local SIM card when you travel overseas can save you big time on the roaming
charges. Not only your incoming calls to your Reach Numbers will find you and appear
local. Your outgoing calls overseas will turn local if you use a local ComfyTel
Access number for the city/country you are in, or use the ComfyTel Callback service.
How to change phone during conversation?
Changing you phone while on a call can by done in 2 ways: 1) Using the WebPhone
- If you are logged in your ComfyTel account you can select another phone in the
My Phone drop-down menu of the FlashPhone, and then drag the Flag icon next to the
My Phone onto the ongoing call icon. The selected phone will ring and when you answer
it, the call will get transferred there. 2) Using the Pickup number - You can dial
a Pickup number from the phone you want to use (has to be a registered personal
PIN-free phone) and call will get immediately transferred there.
How can I start and stop recording?
To start recording press *1 at any time during a call. Both parties will hear a
confirmation beep. Pressing *2 will stop the recording. You can record multiple
fragments during a single call by starting and stopping the recording
How can I play back and download a recording?
The recordings are immediately posted at your Call and SMS --> Recordings tab. You
can listen to the recordings by clicking on the associated Playback link or right-click
the link and choose the "Save the link as..." to download the recording.
What is call screening for?
Want to prevent unwanted calls bothering you? The call screening feature is designed
for that. The callers are asked to identify themselves by recording their names
before the call reaches you, giving you possibility to accept the call, reject it
or direct it to voice mail. You may choose callers categories subjected to the screening
- it can be all callers, unidentified callers (with no caller ID presented) or callers
that are not in your Contacts.
How can I enable call screening?
Select an appropriate call screening option at the My Account --> Advanced Options
tab
What is Music On Hold and how can I configure custom Music On Hold?
Music-on-hold (MOH) is the audio applied to other party of your call when you put
the call on-hold. ComfyTel provides you with a selection of tunes you may use as
MOH. The selection is available at the My Account --> Advanced Options tab. In near
future we will allow you to upload your own audio files for MOH.
What is Ringback and how can I configure custom Ringback?
Ringback is a tone applied to the calling party while your phone rings. ComfyTel
provides you with a selection of tunes you may use as your Ringbacks. You can select
different Ringbacks when you are idle and when you are busy (waiting call Ringback).
The selection is available at the My Account --> Advanced Options tab. In near future
we will allow you to upload your own audio files for the Ringbacks
How do I manage my voice mail box?
When you open a ComfyTel account a voice mail box is automatically attached to your
“Internal Number”. When you are inside the ComfyTel network you can
access your voice mail box by dialing 0001. Default password is the last four digits
of your “Internal Number”. Make sure to change it. You can do this:
1) From ComfyTel web site by clicking on “Change password” link in “Internal
Number and Voice Mail” section of “My Account”; 2) By dialing
0001 directly from inside ComfyTel network or through publicly available “Access
numbers”. If you dial from one of your “Registered phones” you
will be prompted to enter voice mail password. Then follow instructions of the voice
mail menu.
How do I record my greetings?
You can record your greetings and name after you call your voice mail box (as described
above) and enter administrative menu by pressing 0 in the voice menu.
Why there are different types of greetings?
You can have different greetings depending on your status: Unavailable greeting
will be played when you cannot take a call (for example, because your current “Availability”
status is “Unavailable”); Busy greeting will be played when you are
on another call and cannot take the call.
How can I configure sending voicemail to my email?
By default all voice mails will be sent to the same e-mail you used during registration.
You can always change it through “Change” link in “Internal Number
and Voice Mail” section of “My Account”.
How can I listen to voice messages from my phone?
You can listen to your messages selecting the corresponding menu items of voice
mail IVR. If your messages were forwarded to your e-mail you can play them as regular
audio files.
How can I create a CallMe link?
You can create a CallMe link at the “CallMe Links” tab of “My
Account”. Depending on what information you want to disclose you can create
the link associated with your: E-mail address, ComfyTel Internal number, Personal
Reach numbers (DIDs), Instant messenger IDs (Skype, MSN or other)
How much it costs me and how can I control the cost?
When somebody using “CallMe Link” you will pay for his/her call based
on applicable ComfyTel rates. You will pay for both legs of the call. To control
the cost you can cap the rate, allowing calls only if their respective rates are
lower; or allow making calls only for people whose numbers are in your “Contacts”.
You may let your “Favourites” make calls without rate limitations.
How can I see cost of every call that I made?
You can see your detailed call records at the Billing --> Call Records tab. See
our rate plans for more information.
Why there two records for some calls that I made?
In case you are using the Callback or WebPhone to initiate your call you will be
charged for 2 call legs. If you want to save money and not to pay for the first
leg, consider using SIP phone or Skype as a terminal or use our Call-in service.
Also, if people you call are ComfyTel subscribers and you call them within the ComfyTel
network, the call can be absolutely free for you, even if your callee is half world
away.
What payment options does ComfyTel support?
We support payments through PayPal, Visa and Mastercard.
Should I enter details of my credit card every time I make a payment?
No, when you make payment using credit card you can check "Use this credit card
for future" payments option. Your credit card will be attached to your account and
next time you can pay instantly without re-entering details of your credit card.
Please note that ComfyTel never stores your full credit card number in its records.
Does ComfyTel support automatic balance top-up?
Yes, once you attached your credit card to your ComfyTel account, you can enable
automatic payment option.
How do I enable dialing from Outlook?
We provide a special system component (TSP driver) that allows you to make click-to-call
from Microsoft Outlook and any Microsoft TAPI compliant Windows application, for
example, from your CRM. The driver seamlessly integrates in Windows OS and allows
you making calls directly from your email program address book, by selecting the
contact and clicking on the phone icon in the toolbar. To enable it you just need
to select the “ComfyTel” as your "Line" and configure your account credentials
according to the “Outlook Plug-in Installation guide”.
